OANDA Japan to Shut Down MetaTrader 4 Service by November 2026

OANDA Japan has confirmed a firm timeline for terminating its MetaTrader 4 service. New MT4 orders — on both demo and live accounts — will be suspended after the close of trading on Friday, September 25, 2026. From the market open on Monday, September 28, trading will be limited to closing existing positions only. The service shuts down completely after the close of trading on Friday, November 27, 2026.

The brokerage said MetaQuotes has stopped providing system maintenance for MT4, making it difficult to meet current security requirements. OANDA Japan is urging all affected traders to migrate to MetaTrader 5 as soon as possible.

Any positions and balances remaining at the time of shutdown will be transferred to an MT5 Standard Plan account over the November 28–29 weekend. Clients with no open positions are advised to move funds to another account — MT5, fxTrade, or TradingView — before the cutoff.

OANDA Japan’s exit from MT4 is part of a broader industry shift away from the legacy platform. MetaQuotes has been winding down MT4 maintenance for several years, and more brokers are expected to follow suit.
