Jarvis Investment Management Enters Special Administration

Updated: Fresh

The Financial Conduct Authority said Jarvis Investment Management Limited entered special administration on 14 October 2026. Adam Stephens and Philip Hemming of S&W Partners LLP were appointed as special administrators, according to the regulator’s 15 October notice.

The FCA said the administrators will assess the money and assets held by Jarvis Investment and work to return them to clients where possible. Clients should receive a letter within eight weeks of the appointment explaining the proposed return process and how to make a claim. The FCA said Jarvis remains authorised and subject to its rules while the administrators manage the process.

The notice also says that distribution costs, including administrators’ fees, may be deducted from client money or assets if there are insufficient funds to pay for their return. For eligible clients, the Financial Services Compensation Scheme may cover distribution costs and any shortfall up to £85,000. Eligibility and the final outcome will be determined through the administration process.

Why it matters

Clients whose investments or cash are held through Jarvis should follow communications from the administrators and their adviser or wealth manager. The update is operational rather than a market call: it does not identify an immediate change to trading in any specific security. It does underline the importance of understanding where client assets are custodied and how claims processes work when an authorised firm fails.

What to watch next

Watch for the administrators’ client communications, including the return-of-assets plan and any FSCS updates. Clients should use verified administrator contact details and be cautious of unsolicited claims-management approaches, as the FCA warns that third-party help can reduce recoveries through fees.
